Well, my future daughter in-law's mother (B, my friend) called to let me know she purchased her Mother's dress for the wedding. She got a green suite-type, below the knee dress at Macy's that she is comfortable with and will wear again. Hopefully that $4 plum-colored suite dress I bought over a month ago at Goodwill will fit me. It is on the smaller size of the size I am just now fitting into. Gotta keep up with the exercising. I am so lazy and use being tired as an excuse, plus I love to eat. But once I get out there and walking I just love it. I listen to my MP3 with "Way of the Master" broadcasts and laugh as I go.
N challenged me on his birthday saying "Mom, the kids aren't going to recognize you because you are getting chubby." So we both decided to see who could lose the most weight. Keeping it simple and achievable for 8-12 weeks, I settled on 10 lbs, he wanted 20 lbs for himself. I have hit my goal and want to go for 6.5 more before the wedding, just not sure I can get there b/c am over the hump of the start and now need to keep going. Oh boy, we'll see.

Everything is "big"
We talked to our children who are waiting for us in the Phils. They received our latest package which included photos of friends and family. E wanted us to know that he is "growing". So I was curious about the comment. His foster mom told me that he was exercising since he needed to catch up to his brothers here in the US. Apparently, the photo of our 3 boys really impressed him (I hope it didn't scare the kids) on how "BIG" they are!
This isn't our first experience with E noticing the size of things. We sent a birthday cake to his orphanage when he turned 7 this summer. We wanted to be sure there would be enough cake for everyone there (about 40 people). His comment: "That sure was a BIG cake." He is our happy guy, we are finding out.
M is opening up and seemed a bit more animated in her conversation with us, well at least the tone of her voice since she only says "Hi, Mommy, love you Mommy, thank you Mommy" and whatever else her foster mom prompts her with at this point. She is the serious big sister and we hope she adjusts well to life here and can be a kid.
J is quick in school and has lots of friends from what we hear. He memorizes his Bible verses and is glad to tell us. I think he is going to move fast in his lessons.
Little J is quite the "firecracker". She is up at dawn with her foster mom, so I let hubby know that they can have daddy-daughter time in the mornings while I get my beauty sleep :)

Sick Days
Well, C is finally recovery from that massive ear infection that cause fluid build up in his mastoid bone. We went from flu-symptoms on Weds-Fri, ear pain and doc's office Saturday morning, vomitting antibiotic Saturday afternoon, AI Dupont with admission on early Monday morning, to allergic reaction to stronger antibiotic on Monday evening, breaking fever finally, to doc's office on Tuesday for new meds, to severe hives head to toe on Tuesday evening, to first night of sleep on Tuesday. He is still very tired, but the pain is lessening and the hives have all but disappeared.
He is worried because he has missed 5 days of his onilne AP courses from Seven Star Academy (Biology and Composition). We are praying he can get started on something maybe tomorrow (Thursday) as he has just about exhausted our video collection.
